Adam Sacora, Lead Solar Energy Systems Installer, NABCEP Certified in Solar Thermal, Photovoltaic.
Adam leads FLS Energy’s installation crews. He is a graduate of Appalachian State University’s Appropriate Technologies program. He is also a nationally certified (NABCEP) solar energy installer and experienced small wind designer/installer. Adam has extensive OHSA safety training in addition to large project management experience. Prior to joining FLS Energy, Adam worked for a national renewable energy company installing both solar and wind energy systems.
Cyrus Lemmond, Solar Energy System Installer.
Cyrus grew up in Charlotte, but when he moved to the mountains in his early twenties, he knew this is where he belonged. He brings to the FLS Energy team almost 8 years of HVAC experience along with EPA and OSHA certifications. Daily practice of patience and problem solving in every aspect of his life keep Cyrus focused and working hard. When not working, Cyrus enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, and always winning at FLS Poker Night.
Pete Sipp, Residential Board Builder.
Pete’s numerous pipe and structural welding certificates and his strong work ethic make him a priceless asset at FLS Energy. He is currently building, welding, soldering and ultimately creating our easy to install hot water control units. Pete is “thrilled beyond description” to be working with the FLS Energy team and knows his work is making a cleaner planet. Outside of work, you can find Pete spending time with his family or reading about his favorite subject – early U.S technology.
Josh Neale, Solar Energy System Installer.
Josh grew up with his two sisters and parents in Hendersonville. He studied Native American Culture at Appalachian State University and graduated with a degree in Anthropology with a Sustainable Development Concentration. While in college, Josh hiked the Appalachian Trail for 5 ½ months from Georgia to Maine; hiked the Mountains-to-Sea Trail in North Carolina; and lived with the Mississippi Choctaw Indians playing stickball for a summer. Josh has been installing solar energy systems since 2007 – systems that he feels are making significant impacts in the United States.
Steve Hauger, Solar Energy System Installer.
Steve was born and raised in a beautiful small town in north central West Virginia. His career as a senior level architectural project manager originally led him to Atlanta, GA. After 16 long years in the city, Steve made the brave decision to move to the Asheville, NC area to be closer to his family and to reinvent his career path. Steve considers himself extremely fortunate to be a part of a company that genuinely takes pride in providing large scale, alternate energy solutions.
Ethan Simcox, Solar Energy System Installer.
Ethan brings to FLS Energy a passion for solar energy. He grew up in Philadelphia, PA and eventually ended up in Western North Carolina. Ethan holds a degree in Outdoor Education with a focus in Environmental Studies, as well as a Photovoltaic certification from Solar Staffing. Ethan assisted the founders on a solar installation when FLS Energy was just beginning before he and his wife moved to Korea to teach English. While abroad, he realized that solar energy was what he wanted to do and FLS Energy was the place to do it. While not working, Ethan enjoys hiking, camping and playing disc golf.
Ryan Holmes, Solar Energy System Installer.
Ryan is a Western North Carolina native. He graduated from Appalachian State with a degree in Outdoor Recreation. Before he came on board as a solar installer for FLS Energy’s residential division, First Light Solar, he worked in construction and woodworking. Ryan brings to the team a dedicated work ethic and a belief in FLS Energy’s mission. He is passionate about rock climbing and he enjoys being up high on mountains and roof tops. Ryan adds that he is a Cancer and he likes to walk in the woods and whistle.
Bryson Young, Solar Energy System Installer.
Bryson has lived in Western North Carolina his entire life. After graduating from Mars Hill College with a degree in Recreation Management, he hiked the entire Appalachian Trail – from Main to Georgia. He then worked at Mount Mitchell State Park before becoming a solar installer for FLS Energy’s residential division, First Light Solar. Bryson lives with his beautiful wife Erica in East Asheville, and spends all his free time in the great outdoors.
Jim Buckalew, Solar Energy System Installer.
Jim believes in FLS Energy’s mission of making solar mainstream. He arrived at FLS Energy after working for an FLS Energy client, Kanuga Conference Center and the Mountain Train Outdoor School. He developed a sense of stewardship for the earth in his position as the Adventure Programs Manager where he was involved in backpacking, outdoor leadership and education. Jim holds a degree in Art and teaches pottery at Blue Ridge Community College. He is also a proud owner of an FLS Energy solar hot water system.
Andrew Fulton, Lead Solar Energy System Installer, NABCEP Photovoltaic Certified.
Andy grew up in Louisville, Kentucky and graduated from Appalachian State with a degree in Industrial Technology concentration in Appropriate Technologies. He also played a part in three award winning EPA P3 research grants at ASU. Andy says he remembers the moment while in school when it clicked together and he knew what he wanted to do in life: save the Earth by implementing renewables and energy efficiency. He lived in Boone, NC where he continued studying, enjoying his time rock climbing and working for a renewable and building efficiency company. After moving to Asheville, Andy chose to work for FLS because he felt he could grow with FLS Energy and help preserve our natural world.
Joseph Paliuca, Solar Energy System Installer.
Joseph went straight from schooling to working full time in the flooring industry and then eventually owning his own flooring company in Florida. He then obtained several pipe welding certificates and orbital welding certificates and spent the next several years traveling for welding work. After doing work in chemical and power plants, Joseph realized how badly we are polluting the earth and wanted to work in renewable energy. Joseph and his wife moved to Asheville and found a great fit at FLS Energy to install clean energy producing solar energy systems.
Nate Pembleton, Lead First Light Solar Installer.
Prior to joining the FLS Energy team in 2008, Nate served as Crew Leader for Appalachian Energy Solutions in Boone, NC, performing weatherization services and installing solar systems. He also helped create, organize and implement the Stewardship Program for the High Country Conservancy. Nate is an avid rock climber and outdoor enthusiast and has a degree in Recreation Management from Appalachian State University.
Alan Watts, Lead Solar Energy System Installer, NABCEP Certified - Photovoltaic.
Alan hails from Raleigh, NC. He attended Appalachian State in Boone, NC and graduated with a double major in Appropriate Technology and Construction Technology. Alan entered the workforce in construction and renewable energy, and then moved to Asheville to work for FLS Energy. Alan
chose to work for FLS Energy because it gives him the opportunity to
put his skills to work in something he’s passionate about, while being
challenged and working side by side with wonderful folks. When not working, you can find Alan outside – hiking, biking, and playing in swimming holes.
