Brownie joined FLS Energy in 2008 and heads up the business development team. Brownie led work to develop the largest solar thermal project in the nation, solar on 2,300 homes on military communities, and more than 80 MW of utility scale solar PV systems. The development of these renewable projects led to FLS Energy being ranked as the fastest growing company in North Carolina and the 46th growing company in the country. Brownie grew up on a working farm in the Blue Ridge Mountains and holds a BA in Political Science from Warren Wilson College. He enjoys hiking and camping with his family. Brownie served two terms on the Asheville City Council and currently serves as a Buncombe County Commissioner.
