FLS Design, Operations & Quality
Adam Sacora, Lead Designer - PV, NABCEP Certified in Solar Thermal, Photovoltaic.
Adam is a graduate of Appalachian
State University’s Appropriate Technologies program. He is also a
nationally certified (NABCEP) solar energy installer and experienced small wind
designer/installer. Adam has extensive OHSA safety training in addition
to large project management experience. Prior to joining FLS
Energy, Adam worked for a national renewable energy company installing both
solar and wind energy systems.
Lee Coleman, Designer.
After earning a Bachelor's Degree
in Architectural Design from Clemson University, Lee spent several years
working as an intern architect with a local architecture firm. Lee has
worked closely with architects, builders, and clients during all stages
of the construction process. Lee brings his design knowledge and
technical abilities to FLS Energy in order to assist in the design and
development of commercial solar thermal and photovoltaic installations
Kelly Cowan, Designer.
Kelly
joined the FLS Energy family in the summer of 2010. Her knack for
organization, her helpful attitude, and her personal commitment to
environmental stewardship make her a welcome addition to our team. Kelly
has an Associate in Science degree in Architecture and Construction
Management from Seminole State College of Florida. She brings 6 years
experience as an architectural drafter with a background ranging from
high volume residential design and structural engineering to commercial
and retail architecture and historical preservation. Kelly moved to
Asheville in the fall of 2008 pursuing her passion of mountain biking
and whitewater kayaking. When not in the office you will find Kelly with
her young family out on one of the many beautiful trails in WNC.

Talbott Ingram, Quality Manager - NABCEPThermal Certified.
Tal holds NC Unlimited HI & HIII Heating licenses, Tenessee Unlimited Heating license, and OSHSA safety certifications. He graduated with honors degree from Hobart College as well as being names a three-time college All-American in sailing. Tal went on to pursue Olympic goals as part of the US Sailing Team. He graduated from the New England Fuel Institute and worked for the largest propane company in the Northeast. Tal is now responsible for leading the project management team and the field engineers to ensure system quality from design through warranty.
Andrew Fulton, Project Manager, NABCEP
Photovoltaic Certified.
Andy grew up in Louisville, Kentucky
and graduated from Appalachian State with a degree in Industrial
Technology concentration in Appropriate Technologies. He also played a
part in three award winning EPA P3 research grants at ASU. Andy says he
remembers the moment while in school when it clicked together and he
knew what he wanted to do in life: save the Earth by implementing
renewables and energy efficiency. He lived in Boone, NC where he
continued studying, enjoying his time rock climbing and working for a
renewable and building efficiency company. After moving to Asheville,
Andy chose to work for FLS because he felt he could grow with FLS Energy
and help preserve our natural world.

Jeffrey Courson, Project Manager.
Temple Gunter, Solar Technician.
Temple made his
way to the majestic mountains of Western North Carolina via an
upbringing that took him all over the country and two stints in Germany.
He has a background in drafting, engineering and land surveying, and is
certified as a Land Surveyor Intern by the NCBEES. After leading survey
crews in Georgia, he moved to the role of field engineer in the
construction industry. Two of Temple's career highlights were the
layouts of Signature Place, a 37-story high-rise in Saint Petersburg,
Florida, and Pack Square Park in Asheville, NC. Temple is delighted to
work with the fantastic folks here at FLS Energy building first-class
solar energy systems and helping to make the world a better place.
Outside of work, Temple enjoys studying self-realization, yoga, hiking,
adventuring and life with his lovely family - Tiffany, Amber, Evan and
Ocean.
Josh Neale, Field Engineer, NABCEP Solar Thermal Certified.
Josh
grew up with his two sisters and parents in Hendersonville. He studied
Native American Culture at Appalachian State University and graduated
with a degree in Anthropology with a Sustainable Development
Concentration. While in college, Josh hiked the Appalachian Trail for 5
½ months from Georgia to Maine; hiked the Mountains-to-Sea Trail in
North Carolina; and lived with the Mississippi Choctaw Indians playing
stickball for a summer. Josh has been installing solar energy systems
since 2007 – systems that he feels are making significant impacts in the
United States.
Josh Beck, Field Engineer.
Josh
graduated magna cum laude from Appalachian
State University with a B.S. in Appropriate Technology. He came to FLS
Energy after a patchwork lifetime of experience in farms, factories,
studios & classrooms, working and learning about all the different
ways to lend a helping hand. Josh hopes that while at FLS Energy he will
actualize his the desire to create beneficial change in the renewable
energy field. Outside of work, Josh spends his time designing two
dimensional visual media, ceramics, and rabbit farming.

Chad Clinefelter, Solar Energy System Installer.
Chad graduated from Furman University as a 2nd Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, and was active duty in Alaska and in Iraq. Upon his return to civilian life, Chad became an outdoor educator and guide through the National Outdoor Leadership School. It was during that time that Chad fell in love with Western NC. He fees lucky to have found FLS Energy and make his home in Beer City, USA. Chad is an internationally certified rock climbing instructor, a lifeguard, Widerness First Responder and was awarded a Bronze Star. (And they asked him what he was going to do with a Philosophy degree...)
Cyrus Lemmond, Solar Energy System Installer.
Cyrus grew up in Charlotte, but when he moved to the mountains in his early twenties, he knew this is where he belonged. He brings to the FLS Energy team almost 8 years of HVAC experience along with EPA and OSHA certifications. Daily practice of patience and problem solving in every aspect of his life keep Cyrus focused and working hard. When not working, Cyrus enjoys spending time with his family, playing guitar, and always winning at FLS Poker Night.

Ethan Simcox, Solar Energy System Installer.
Ethan brings to
FLS Energy a passion for solar energy. He grew up in Philadelphia, PA
and eventually ended up in Western North Carolina. Ethan holds a degree
in Outdoor Education with a focus in Environmental Studies, as well as a
Photovoltaic certification from Solar Staffing. Ethan assisted the
founders on a solar installation when FLS Energy was just beginning
before he and his wife moved to Korea to teach English. While abroad,
he realized that solar energy was what he wanted to do and FLS Energy
was the place to do it. While not working, Ethan enjoys hiking, camping
and playing disc golf.

Jim believes in
FLS Energy’s mission of making solar mainstream. He arrived at FLS
Energy after working for an FLS Energy client, Kanuga Conference Center
and the Mountain Train Outdoor School. He developed a sense of
stewardship for the earth in his position as the Adventure Programs
Manager where he was involved in backpacking, outdoor leadership and
education. Jim holds a degree in Art and teaches pottery at Blue Ridge
Community College. He is also a proud owner of an FLS Energy solar hot
water system.

Patrick Heavner, Solar Energy System Installer.
After graduating from Appalachian State University, Patrick spent time at the John C. Campbell Folk School where he focused on the art of chair making and blacksmithing. He spent the next six months hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine - 2181 miles. When he returned from his 14-state journey, Patrick worked for carpenters and cabinet makers. He liked the work he was doing, but he was ready to trade in his blue collar for a green one. Patrick feels fortunate to work for a company with as much integrity and craftsmanship as FLS Energy. When not at work, Patrick enjoys woodworking, hiking and playing banjo.
Pete Sipp, Residential Board Builder.
Pete’s numerous pipe and structural welding certificates and his strong work ethic make him a priceless asset at FLS Energy. He is currently building, welding, soldering and ultimately creating our easy to install hot water control units. Pete is “thrilled beyond description” to be working with the FLS Energy team and knows his work is making a cleaner planet. Outside of work, you can find Pete spending time with his family or reading about his favorite subject – early U.S technology.
